37 Ford Modifications
Body changes:
Front windshield lowered 2”
Wiper assemble set under extended hood
Fire wall hand made to receive billet aluminum hood surround supports
Lower windshield framing is used to vent the defroster ducts
Rear window openings were enlarged 1 “each
Rear 36” tail light was glued flush to the body and clear coated
The 3 rd eye brake light was also same as lower
The X M antenna was mounted using clear acrylic lens glued to the body, sanded flat and painted over. The signal reads through the paint
The rear fenders were widened 1.5 “ and the right rear wheel opening was hand formed with a wooden buck and welded back in place to achieve a centered opening
The rear wheel tubs were hand made to flush up to frame for wider tire clearance
The rear trunk floor and body floor were hand made along with rocker panels to follow 37 ford alterations
Frame and running board contours
The door skins were lengthened 1 “in front and blended to follow running board lines
The door have been fitted with hidden hinges along with power windows
Bear claw latched were installed in rear quarter panel “B” pillars
Door releases were install in the side of the seat bases
The running boards were wedge widened 1.5” to match rear fenders
The front fenders were split on the rear top crease and moved forward 3” to get door opening clearance
The front fender rear sections were altered to accept the running board shapes
Hand fabricated running board liner panels were installed to cover mounting brackets and hardware
Front fender front lower lips were reinforced with eyebrow sheet metal bracket and attached to the frame with a 1\2” tube bracket
Bumper bracket holes in body were filled
Inner fender front fillers were sectioned in the center of the factory louvers to clear suspension
The hood was lengthened 7 “and blended into the windshield pillars
The hood has side to side opening ability and is held on by billet side bars and 4 stainless steel hinge arms
The hinge and latch assembly is controlled by stainless rod and handles located inside the car at each end of the dash behind magnetic doors
The radiator is covered by fabricated panel to copy grille shape, hood top shape and dash radius as it blends into the surround bars.
The hood side panels have been changed to match the aftermarket grille with welded flat bars and body line enhancement lines
Engine info:
L S 6 from Street and Performance
Engine has fabricated aluminum covers over coils
Braded stainless hose and polished stainless hard lines plumb the drive train
Exhaust is 2.5” stainless tubing hand fabricated and polished with twin chamber stainless mufflers
Computer, cruise control pod, air compressor, air ride control unit, electronic E- brake, miles of wire, power brake unit, fabricated air tank are all mounted in the X frame cross members and covered with filler panel and belly pans
Chassis:
The TCI chassis started as a rear leaf spring to 9” drum rear end.
The front end has air springs with stainless “A” frames and disc brakes
A chromed power steering unit was used and covered with aluminum panel
The rear was converted to shockwaves.
Fabricated torque arm in center of rear end to frame X member and lower links with pan hard bar keep rear end in place
Two billet drive shaft loops attach to torque arm.
The frame was “C” notched and gussets were added to tie to elevated shock cross member.
A rear body filler panel was fabricated to cover frame from stainless gas tank to lower rear body panel.
The gas tank was powder coated in primer and block sanded, then color and clear coated in power
The rear brakes were changed to discs
The front spindles and 4 rotors were chrome powder coated
Interior:
Interior started with sketches for multiple dash styles
After picking this style, bezels for DVD screen and gauges were CNC machined and a CAD file was sent to Dakota Digital to design and fabricate gauges
The DVD screen bezel also doubles as the A/C vent grille
The dash panel and dash top panel along with the interior panels were hand formed and fabricated from 3003 aluminum. The dash top panel is a slide on/off cover to easy access wiring and venting
The console features CNC trim bezels and billet roll top desk to cover heater, a/c, wiper, lighting and stereo power controls
Seat bases house DVD player, I Pod, XM radio, ride height controller and feature CNC lower glove box door and DVD player bezels
Upper glove box/center arm rest features touch pad control panel to fire up computer, starter and headlamps Rocker switches mount below to control power windows
The rear seat base covers the fuse boxes and relays along with sub-woofer
CNC speaker grilles front and rear cover Moral speakers and tweeters
Interior side moldings were machined in straight lengths and hand formed to fit design lines on the side panels and dash
Interior windshield and window molding were fabricated to fit new openings
A one off interior rear view mirror was designed and CNC machined
Mirror lens was water jet cut using automotive mirror material
